MY FAITH

My prioities in life used to be fishing, job, and family and on rare occassions I'd go to church with my family.

In June of 1984 our three year old son was involved in a drowning accident which left him totally handicapped and in a wheel chair.  It was through this circumstance that I began to see my need for God in my life. I felt so much guilt from the years of neglecting my family to persue fishing that I thought God wouldn't listen to me.

God sent me some Christians into my life to share with me that no matter what I'd done, Jesus loved me and would forgive my sins and change me if I'd just put my faith in Him.
And change me He did !

My priorities now are God first, then family and work and then fishing.  The Lord put our broken marriage back together and still allows me to fish.

My son has since gone home to be with God and I know because what Jesus did for me that I'm going to heaven and will see him again some day.

God is not some ogre waiting to punish us for our sins.  The Bible says in John 3:16 
"That God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, and that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Faith is a bit like fishing. You cast for fish that you can not see, but you believe they are there. Putting your trust in Jesus is similar.  You can't see Him but once you put your trust in Him your life will never be the same!
